The Roots are famous for being the house band on NBC’s The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. I had not heard of them until I saw them on the late night series. Their fifth album Phrenology was a critical success, but it did not equal to commercial success. I guess they were not known in Hungary in 2002 or ever. I would have heard of them.
The only good thing about this album is the music. It is a bit more creative than most hip hop music. In the end, I did not like any of the songs. I coulda not find one that I would want to hear again. The vocals are not terrible. I guess it was the lyrics that were lacking. 4/10.
