The Killers released their second album Sam’s Town In 2006. It was a hit for the band. Lead singer Brandon Flowers has stated that you can hear his real voice on this album compared to its predecessor. “We didn’t use too many vocal effects. On the first album, we used auto-tune, and I didn’t even realize what was going on with these machines and the computer. I was adamant about not using it this time.”
I like every song on the album. My absolute favourites are “When You Were Young“, “Read My Mind”, “My List”, “This River Is Wild”, and “Why Do I Keep Counting?”.
Overall, this is a great addition to the list of 1001 Albums... I am not sure if it was removed in later editions or if it still remains in the list. It seems that the editor of the book is just making money at this time by adding and subtracting new albums. I like this album because I really think Flowers vocals are better and the music has grown. If you like alternative rock, indie rock, new wave, and heartland rock, then give it a go. 10/10.
