The Suburbs is the third studio album of Arcade Fire. This is an album that I know well. I used to listen to it a lot in Budapest with my best friend. I miss those days. I miss feeling that connection with another person. I miss feeling known. I have felt alone for the past seven years in Colorado. I miss having a best friend. My life is so lonely. I feel so sad.
One of my favourite songs is “Half Light I“, but I also like “Modern Man”, “Half Light II (No Celebration)”, “Wasted Hours”, and “We Used to Wait“. I really like the last song and the inactive video: http://www.thewildernessdowntown.com/ It is kind of fun to put your childhood address into the video. I did not have a childhood address so I made up one. You can write a letter to your younger self. I wish I could have known what I know today. Maybe if I had not believed all the people who lied to me, then I would not be so sad. I used to believe that I would be loved and feel love and I would be happy. I used to believe I would have a best friend like everyone else. Now, I believe nothing.
Overall, I think this album is their best album. I liked it back in 2010 and I still like it. I cannot believe I have not listened to it in a long time. It is a perfect album. If you like indie rock and baroque pop, then this is your album. 10/10.
